Satellite NB105: a first for Toshiba netbook looking very “pro”?

Presented discreetly in Mexico, the Toshiba Satellite NB105 seems to be the first Japanese manufacturer of netbook, identified by the blog JKK Mobile. This model offers features for a very traditional netbook: Intel Atom 1.6 GHz, 8.9-inch screen with resolution 1024 x 600 pixels, 120 GB hard drive, 1 GB of RAM and Windows XP Home Edition. Side connections, this little machine offers 3 USB ports, an Ethernet port, a site for SD card and the WiFi wireless connectivity.

But despite these benefits approximating a Asus Eee PC 901 or a Dell Inspiron Mini 9, the contours of this mini laptop remain very professional, the antithesis of design “fun” and colorful that competitors Toshiba offer. Yet his name Satellite ranks well in the category of portable general public.

It will take a few more weeks its official launch in Europe to find out which market Toshiba wants to focus with such a machine. Last July, Toshiba had confirmed he was preparing a mini laptop but does not specify whether this future machine would be part of the category of netbooks.
