For use by professional nomads, Panasonic has introduced its latest Ultraportables very resistant Toughbook, the CF-W8, the CF-T8 and the CF-F8. If the first two, with 12.1-inch screens, mainly do to upgrade their processor, the third model to handle, displays more new features for 14 inches.

Laptops that just submit Panasonic, the CF-W8, the CF-T8 and the CF-F8, are not “hardened” as those designed for example to the military or industry, which resist to dust and spray water, but they are far from being fragile!
Labeled Toughbook Executive, they are designed for traveling executives, architects, lawyers and other professions. And they must endure harsh treatment: Falls (tested up to 76 cm), pressures equivalent to the weight of 100 kg and spills on the keyboard. These requirements were imposed on the previous series.
Moreover, the W8-CF and CF-T8 which have screens of 12.1 inches (1024 x 768 pixels) does not too different from their predecessors. Their chassis have not changed. But their processor, identical to both, is now up to the platform Centrino 2 (vPro technology with remote assistance) are Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300 (1.2 GHz). The installed RAM (DDR2 667) is 2 GB, and the hard disk of 120 GB Autonomy announced by Panasonic is comfortable it would be 7.5 hours (depending on the testing of Mobile Mark 2007). The W8 has a weight of 1.280 kg. While the T8, its touch screen and no optical drive, weighs slightly heavier with 1385 kg.

A 14-inch model, to handle and a mere 1.6 kg
The third computer, the CF-F8 is heavier. But with only 1.66 kg, it is now, according to Panasonic, the laptop with a 14.1 inch screen and an optical drive the lightest in its class. And semi-hardened further. Its screen is wider, with resolution of 1280×800 pixels, Panasonic saying it responds to requests from users. The processor is stronger also is an Intel Core 2 Duo SP9300 running at 2.26 GHz.
